"The Cape" is a peninsula which makes up the easternmost portion of Massachusetts. In the 17th century the designation Cape Cod applied only to the tip of the peninsula, essentially present-day Provincetown. This map is hand drawn based on a 1950s geological map of the area. The drawing was created into a relief plate which was then used to make prints on an old fashioned letterpress. The shorelines of each map are then painted with watercolor.
