No AI tools are used anywhere in our creative process: not for generating images, not for assisting with design, not for layout, not for anything. The artist sits down with reference maps and topographic data and draws each line by hand. I have been traveling quite a bit this summer so haven't had the opportunity to make many new pieces. But I find that travel does light a creative fire inside me and when I return home I am raring to go out to the shop and make art.

I did manage to complete one new map in the brief period that I was back in Portland. Introducing Hampton Roads! I have an old friend that has been asking me to make a map of this area and finally managed to get it done. It's a cool landscape with all the rivers and inlets, plus it's an area rich in American history. I just finished watching the Ken Burns documentary about the American Revolution (I highly recommend!) so my mind has been on the many historic areas of the US that played a part in our gaining independence from Britain.
